Our Approach
We view every student and family as unique, possessing their own talents and gifts. With this guiding principle in mind, we meet our clients where they are to help them see the path forward. The college process is an exciting time of possibility, and we are privileged to help students match with colleges where they will thrive, academically, socially, culturally and financially. Our approach is aimed at reducing stress by demystifying the process, drawing upon years of experience in the field of college admissions, current data, and an established methodology. In our role as counselors, we build relationships with our students and families in order to guide and advise them through a successful journey forward.
Our process begins by placing students at the center. We empower students to appreciate their distinctive talents, goals and needs enabling us to design a highly personalized list. Because we build relationships in a safe and welcoming environment, students are invited to laugh, be vulnerable or simply express their joys and frustrations. By emphasizing acceptance and valuing each student, we provide them with the tools they need to tell their own authentic stories. This level of honest engagement with the process reduces the sometimes weighty nature of the decisions at hand and encourages them to see the “big picture”.
While we take a student centered approach, we understand the pressures faced by parents. As a result, we provide a concierge level of service to our students and families, making ourselves readily available as questions, concerns and triumphs arise. We consider ourselves part of a team, surrounding each of our students with the support they at this stage in their lives.
The college process has the potential to build real life skills that extend far beyond acceptance. To this end, we embrace a “whole child” approach so that every student can reach their potential. By doing the research, self-reflecting and telling their stories, students grow in the self-confidence that they will need in college and beyond.
